Dr. Baktha BC Kumar, also known as BBC Kumar hails from Vellore, a southern town in South India. His family consisted of his father Mr. Henry Walter and mother Mrs. Sundari Walter, and his five siblings. His father and grandfather (who was an active evangelist) played a very important role inspiring and entrenching him in the teachings of the Word and to lead a prayerful life. Rev. Kumar’s biblical growth was also nurtured by his mother’s prayer life and faith in God. Rev. BBC Kumar was an active SCM student in college, accepted a call to serve in the Student Christian Movement of India from 1973-1976, worked as Program Secretary among the Christian Students in the colleges and universities, conducting Bible Studies, organizing prayer cells, and leadership training conferences. After completing his Masters (MA) at Madras Christian College, he decided to pursue Theological studies in the USA and to become a Pastor. In 1976 he came to New Brunswick Theological Reformed Church of America, and obtained his Masters in Divinity (M Div), and Masters in Social Work (MSW) at Rutgers University in New Jersey. In 1986, he was ordained in the Brooklyn Classis of the Reformed Church in America. Rev. BBC Kumar along with his wife Mrs. Preethi Kumar, while working as Licensed Social Workers in a NY hospital, found that many new and old Immigrant families from the Indian sub-continent were facing tremendous cultural, social, language, economic, and spiritual issues and challenges, in adjusting to the Western Culture while living in the USA. Inspired by God, Rev. BBC Kumar realized that he had a vision and a passion to minister to these immigrant families. In July 1989, he founded AICC along with the help of others, and the support of the Palisades Classis of the RCA, at the Old Bergen Reformed Church, Jersey City, NJ. As the congregation and membership grew, AICC continued to move geographically in New Jersey, catering to the needs of its growth to Maplewood, Roselle Park and finally to Berkeley Heights, where AICC has its own Church Building. Rev. BBC Kumar also serves as a Specialized Minister in the Passaic Valley Classis of the Reformed Church of America. In 2012, Rev. BBC Kumar received his D.Min degree (Doctor of Ministry) in the field of Pastoral Care and Counseling from Drew University, Madison, NJ. Rev. BBC Kumar married Mrs. Preethi Kumar in 1978 and has three children Prem, Priya and Padmini. To reach our Pastors - Contact: pastors@aiccnj.org Rev. Dr. B . B . C Kumar (1989 - 2014) I have no greater joy than this, to hear that you are walking in the truth (3 John: 4) Rev. Kamalesh Stephen’s greatest joy is when the people to whom he is called to minister live out their faith in their places of work and leisure. Mentoring disciples to be a living witness for God in the world has been his deepest yearning and he brings that passion to Asian Indian Christian Church located in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. After having served World Vision of India for two years Rev. Kamalesh came to the United States in 1990 to pursue his dual Master’s in Divinity and Economic Development from Eastern University and Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (now Palmer Theological Seminary). Kamalesh assisted the senior pastor in the growth of Grace-Trinity UCC in Philadelphia. His academic journey took him to Princeton Theological Seminary where he pursued Th. M. and Ph. D. degrees in the area of Homiletics (preaching). Rev. Kamalesh also serves as an adjunct faculty at Palmer Theological Seminary and Princeton Theological Seminary. Rev.
